XS750 REAR DISC
« on: June 12, 2019, 03:25:12 PM »
Does the XS750 rear disc mount up onto the XS1100 rear wheel the same way and does it have the same offset as the 1100?
The reason I ask is because i'm trying to mount an FJ rear brake calliper with mounting bracket to the XS1100 but because of the size of the 1100 rear disc the FJ calliper won't sit in the bracket properly.
XS750 rear disc is 267mm and the XJR rear is 266mm, the bracket from an XJR is a perfect fit against the 1100 rear wheel and swing arm and i'll just have to mount the FJ calliper back to front and upside down. No biggie there.
I know i'll have to get a tab welded on the 1100 swing arm for the brake torque arm.
So if all is correct with the 750 rear disc has anyone got a spare knocking around that they don't want?

Interesting thought... But don't you need 'members' for a 'Club'..?

If you can't bleed your bike's brakes then you can't have a bike.

Yes the XS750 disc mounts and aligns  the same .

But isn't the FJ1100/1200 rear disc 282mm ?

Great stuff.

Maybe, but the XJR disc is smaller, same size as XS750, and by using the XJR calliper bracket the brake calliper is at a different angle so enabling fitment.
I've been piddling about with the FJ and XJR calliper brackets this afternoon and if I didn't think i was on to something i wouldn't bother.
It came about when I looked at all the spares that i'd got in front of me, including callipers, brackets, spare discs etc.

Oh nice one mate. I've still got some XJ1100/81MNS front brake callipers of yours. Must meet up sometime then mate.
Just been and put it all back together now until I can find someone to weld me a torque arm tab to the swing arm.

I was originally going to put an XS750 rear disc on my Rat, even bought the caliper mount which is lower than the 11, then the fact I swap wheels about between bikes stopped me, unless I convert all my bikes wheels and caliper mounts.
