What Colour Should My XS1100 be?
« on: April 22, 2019, 06:54:02 PM »
I have bought an XS1100 which i am restoring. How do I know what colour it should be? Also if it is a two tone (Grey and Silver) how do I know where the demarcation of the colours should be? the frame number is 2HF 000 111
Thanks

You might find the info in this link useful.

I don't think 2HF is correct but I could be wrong.

Interesting thought... But don't you need 'members' for a 'Club'..?

If you can't bleed your bike's brakes then you can't have a bike.

XS1100 - it's old fookin' hat.

Many thanks for that.
I am not sure that the contents are right - my bike is seriously original and it is grey with a silver section within the tank.
The link would suggest it cant be that colour. It also suggests that it should be a single colour - not two tone.

Any suggestions?

To check how original your bike is....what does the engine number read ? You will see it marked on the top of the crankcase.
If original...it should read identical to the frame no.
If the engine and frame nos are different...it s a bitza.
The designation 2HF is something i have never seen or heard of before .
There are many possibilities  ...but first do a cross check with the engine number and post pics of the bike......as they are worth a thousand words.
If you don t know how to post pics on here ....someone will help you with that.

My bike is a 1980 2h9 in black with the gold pinstripe but i can't find that on the list in the link, so i am a bit dubious as to how correct it is.
