Can Anyone Identify these carbs Please?
« on: February 23, 2019, 06:55:44 PM »
Got these carbs with the bike, (XS1100) I was told they are "FJ", but don't know which one.

They fit the inlet stubs ok.
They have push/pull throttle arrangement.
Sidepull choke knob. I think FJs were cable?
What's that funny electrical plug fastened on the side?

I've got some photo's but can't get them to work. Grrr. I've had a look round the site but can't find instructions on how to do it, so if someone would please help me out with that too, that would be great. thanks.

Sounds like zrx carbs.

Could be, but if I am correct XJR1300 carbs also had side push/pull choke on carbs with TPS ..  Just google and compare with yours ...

Mathh, I google imaged XJR carbs and that is indeed what mine are. Thanks for the help.

My next questions are,
Has anyone fitted them?
How did they work out?
Was it worth the effort?

Sounds like it will involve lots of trial and error buggering about with jet sizes which is way out of my league. Maybe someone out there knows different?

XJR carbs changed to BSR37's for the 1300 from 2002 on. The 1200 and 13's up to 2002 use BS36's.
Do a search on the forum and you should find the specs for them which i posted up a few years back.
Get the jetting close to XS ones and start there. It's all trial and error mate, there's no magic formula. PITA i know, but worth it in the end. To save mither run the bike without the airbox until you hit the spot.

Interesting thought... But don't you need 'members' for a 'Club'..?

If you can't bleed your bike's brakes then you can't have a bike.

XS1100 - it's old fookin' hat.

Best mod i have ever done ..fitted jets from the original carbs and away she went .. pilots are too small and main jet was way too small also ...a lot of head scratching an reading old posts on here ...looking for another set now for my next project..

Hmm, ok Brsdster, might give that a go when I'm ready. I've got the XS carbs. They're fire damaged, not not a melted blob or anything, insides might be alright, fingers crossed. Thanks for the advice.
